My name is Ashley Neaves, I'm a professional tennis coach, programme director and coach educator based in the UK that also posts tips for players, coaches and parents online via my social media channels called The Tennis Mentor. We now have a community of 89,000 subscribers on YouTube, 200,000 followers on Instagram and 27,000 on TikTok (although I feel I'm a little old for that!)

 

As a competitive player, competing on the British Tennis circuit and junior ITF events, I started coaching at the age of 16 to fund my tennis playing career expenses, and over a few years gradually moved into a more full time coaching role and have been loving it ever since. I have worked with juniors from the age of 4 to win national titles and to compete internationally. I now run a coaching programme for players of all ages and abilities on the South coast of England and was lucky enough to be crowned UK Young Coach Of The Year in 2010 and the LTA UK Coach Of The Year in 2017.

 

During the pandemic's lockdown, I started The Tennis Mentor YouTube channel to give my players something to keep them active whilst confined to their homes. The videos were a hit so I decided to continue to create once lockdown restrictions eased. I now upload a YouTube video every week, and Instagram daily providing online tennis tips for players, parents and coaches.

More recently, I've created a series of resources to help you to be the best that you can be; The Doubles Masterclass. A course aimed at adult club players who aim to take their doubles game to the next level. And 'Bulletproof At The Baseline', written with ATP Tour coach, David Sammel, to give you the drills and tools to become more robust and resilient from the back of the court.​​​​​
